Goldney House and Gardens in Clifton Wood were built for the merchant Thomas Goldney in the 18th century. The gardens are beautiful and include a grotto lined with rock crystals known as Bristol Diamonds, shells and fossiles. The gardens are open most days throughout the university summer holiday.
