Cheddar Gorge

Cheddar, Somerset BS27 3QF
01934 742 343

The Gorge is the biggest and finest inland limestone gorge in the country. It has beautiful stalagmite caves (there is a charge). Also plants such as the Cheddar Pink and Cheddar Bedstraw are only found here. The woods support a thriving population of Dormice and there are many other rarities to be found locally. Many of the rockfaces in the Gorge have names, especially those used by climbers.

Have a look at the official Cheddar Gorge and Cheddar Caves site.

Open 10am to 5pm May to Mid September, 10:30am to 4:30pm Mid September to April.
